Our school soccer teams participated in a gala last Wednesday as part of the PSSA knockout competition. Both teams played exceptionally well. The boys won their first game against Woodport PS, 4-0. They played a tight game against Terrigal resulting in a 1 all draw, they played it out in extra time with both teams scoring 1 goal
apiece, but eventually lost on a corner count. Terrigal went on to also win their final game. The girls played a terrific game against a strong team from Copacabana PS. All of the girls gave it their best and there were some exciting breakaway moments. Unfortunately they lost the match and were knocked out of the competition.
Mr Wright and Ms Fyffe would like to praise the outstanding effort and sportsmanship of all students involved. It was pleasure to watch each and every one of you strive for your personal best. We would also like to thank Mat Newman for volunteering his time to coach the boys, his time and expertise was very much appreciated. We would also like to thank the Avoca Beach parents who attended. It was brilliant to have so many supporters cheering on all participants in the event.
