Catching public transport

Public transport is a great way to safely get to and from school.

Safety tips:

  1. Always meet your child at the bus stop – never on the opposite side of the road.

  2. Hold your child’s hand at the bus stop.

  3. Stand a few steps back from the edge of the road when waiting at the bus stop.

  4. Wait until the bus has gone, then choose a safe place to cross the road.

Contact us to learn about catching the bus.

Remember:

Walking safely

Always hold your child’s hand  until they are 8 years old,

Until children are 10 years old, they should be closely supervised in the traffic environment and hold an adult’s hand when crossing the road.

Choose a safe crossing

Lead by example and choose a safe place to cross the road. Stop, Look, Listen, Think every time you cross the road. Discuss this important road safety message. The pedestrian crossing on Avoca Drive is the safest place to cross the road.

STOP!  - one step back from the kerb.

LOOK!  - continuously both ways.

LISTEN!  - for the sounds of approaching traffic.

THINK!  - whether it is safe to cross.
