Softball Success!

Did you know that our school has an awesome softball team that has made it to the quarter finals of the NSW PSSA Boys Softball Competition? The team will travel to Narranga, Coffs Harbour, for their final game on Monday 7th November against Narranga Public School.

I had a chance to interview their coach, Mrs Boarer. I though I'd ask Mrs Boarer how we did so well. Mrs Boarer said that when the team was competing in the Central Coast Championships, at first she said that she wasn't so sure about how they would go but later in the game she was confident and sure that they would do well. She mentioned that it was a very exciting game and she was happy with the results. Mrs Boarer stated that she was very proud of the boys as they have been training very hard and have shown excellent sportsmanship.

Next, I interviewed some of the players. I asked Rohan who inspired him to start playing softball. He told me that his brother inspired him to play because he took him down to the football oval one day to teach him the basics of softball.  After that, I asked Rohan which position he plays. His position is shortstop, which is in between 3rd base and the pitcher. His job is when the ball comes towards him he needs to catch it or scoop it from the ground and throw it to a base. Noah said the he inspired himself because he plays baseball which is pretty close to softball. I asked him what position he plays and he told me he is a all rounder, which means that he can play anywhere on the field.

We wish the boys the very best of luck for Monday and look forward to hearing all about the game.
