Our ‘Lone Pine' was planted last Wednesday with a brief ceremony being led by our school leaders Owen and Kirra. On ANZAC Day this year, Johnnie was our student representative in the 100 Years 100 Boats ANZAC Ceremony at Collaroy Beach, in which 100 schools were presented with a sapling which is a genetic descendent from the Lone Pine battlefields. This was a significant event acknowledging the 100 years since Gallipoli. Thank you to Mr Blanch for coordinating the planting ceremony and to Johnnie for making the ‘official' dig'.
Our Lone Pine now grows in the southern end of our top oval and will be a long lasting reminder of our nation's involvement in Gallipoli.
